IT WAS A TOUGH JOB!

 From 1998 to 2008, I was associated with a small weekly newspaper in the Florida panhandle. In the beginning, I was paid by the image then was put under contract. From 2005 to 2008, I was the paper's first staff photographer and, as it turned out, also its last with the demise of the print newspaper industry.

It was a great gig for that decade. I met and got to know many locals and even tourists who returned every year. My job entailed providing photos for area events, sports, news happenings as well as feature photos that could be used to fill space.

This image from 2002 was during the annual April Spring Break in the panhandle. As one can see, it was a tough job!
