 Took this shot just three months before her 50th birthday on the front porch of our home. We had recently purchased a second home in the Florida Panhandle and began making plans to quit our jobs within a year and move to the beach.

We did move just about a year later and took the first six months to just relax and enjoy our new place. I eventually became a photographer with a small weekly newspaper and my wife became a reporter shortly after. We lasted until 2008 as the newsprint industry started to fail.

But this photo of her has always been one of my favorites. Shot with an Olympus OM-4T and a Tokina ATX Pro 2,8/80-200mm lens on Tri-X film.
