LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE

Taken in 2003 in an Edinburgh pub, I was still shooting film at the time. I had to make a decision before even going on the trip as to how to shoot the film (Tri-X). I only wanted to carry one camera (Nikon F100) and one lens (Tokina 24-200mmf3.5-5.6) so I made the decision to push the film two stops (ASA1600) both indoors and outdoors since I was concerned about handholding the gear at slow speeds. I knew that the push would add a bit of contrast but I had to make a choice and chose the film push.

This group was carrying on about something and I hit the shutter trying to catch the highlight of their laughter.
