SPRING BREAK, 2005

When I was a working shooter for a small weekly, I got to covered Spring Break in the area. Life was tough but someone had to do it and it might as well be me.

March and April were the best months for students from colleges and universities and for gathering feature art for the weekly edition. A large photo, three columns for verticals, five for horizontals, usually ran on the front page ran on the front page along with other images as needed for the paper that week. If I remember correctly, this image ran inside one of the sections. During the good times for the paper, there were four sections and quite often there were 20 pages per section due to the amount of advertising.

It was a fun job for as long as it lasted. This shot was captured by a Nikon D2H and Tokina ATX Pro 2,8/80-200mm lens.

I really like the amount of subjects that draw the eye throughout the image from the lovely bikinied lass and black couple in the foreground to the volleyball game to the breakers in the background.
