GIRLS OF SUMMER

 I know it is usually the "Boys of Summer" when baseball comes around but I got this shot early in the pre-season at Freeport High School in 2007 before their season opener. Thought this kind of image said as much about high school baseball as one of the players sharpening their skills on the field.

Gear was my Nikon D2H and a Tokina ATX Pro 2,8/300mm lens. The Tokina, while not quite as sharp as a Nikkor and not as quick focusing, was more than adequate for high school sports. I found the Tokina pro series to be great lenses while working as a photographer for a small weekly.
