LISTENING

 For the next few months I am going to try and restrict myself to a single aperture of f2.0. Not sure where this will end up or what I expect to accomplish but I have found giving myself some sort of goal  works for me.

Back when I was a working news shooter, I always had some sort of goal in mind whether I was shooting features, news or sports. I was always looking for an image that would be worthy of the front page of a section to capture the viewers' interests.

Quite often I would shoot at the widest aperture I could to help drive the viewer to what I believed was my main subject. By leaving everything else out of focus I thought would help. Time will only tell how this works out for me now that I am shooting with shorter focal lengths like 50mm.
