HOW LONG?

I took this image on July 4, 2012, as I covered the annual Seaside Fourth of July festivities. It captured my attention today as I settle in to the new progressive/socialist/communistic administration that has been installed into office in America. Back in the day this was captured, Americans of all creeds, colors, religions, etc., came together to celebrate our nation's birthday of independence.

With the current cancel culture in effect in America, I wonder how quickly all of our holidays will disappear. In watching the handling of the pandemic shutdown, government at federal, state and local levels have continued with extending lockdowns keeping people from returning to work, school, church and other neighborly activities. But, not to worry, you can still go to casinos and lose the stimulus money and unemployment money that no one had to work for.

 

The new administration is already looking to use illegal immigrants in justifying the number of Congressional House seats each state gets. It wants to rejoin the Paris Climate Accord (a money losing situation for the USA), jump back in to the Iran nuclear deal that Obama set up and then sent billions to Iran before he left office. Just as jobs were coming back from overseas due to initiatives by the previous administration, the new administration is looking to raise minimum wage costing jobs of less skilled and trained Americans.

After decades of indoctrination by academics, the fabric of American pride has been torn apart by a bunch of socialists that take to the streets destroying property and intimidating anyone in their way.

To be honest, I fear for the liberties and freedoms that Americans have been able to enjoy for the last 200+ years may be coming to an end as socialism and communism takes America toward a totalitarian government. Like the old cliche says, "be careful what you ask for."
